
On behalf of the United States International Duo Piano Competition (USIDPC) and the Staff of The Broadmoor Hotel, you are cordially invited to enter your student/s in the number one international duo competition in America. The 2013 event will be held January 4-6 at the beautiful, five-star Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, CO - a truly unforgettable experience. Ages six though adult are invited to enter the competition. Join us!

Rule 6: To qualify for acceptance in the competition, each duo team must submit an application form, a tape/CD of the selected duo work, and the non-refundable enrollment fee of $80.00 ($40 each student). (Include only the names of the partners and the title of the composition on the tape/CD). To enter in the Professional category (Level XI), entrant must make a living as a performer. Professional level entry fee is $200.
Rule 7: Send only ONE check from the teacher payable to the USIDPC. Multiple checks will not be accepted. Applications received without the signature of each student, parent, and teacher will be denied.
Rule 8: All decisions of the judges are final. Judges are not required to name winners from each division should the level of the performances not meet the judges’ standards.
Rule 9: Applications must be received no later than November 10. Only teachers may contact USIDPC. Results will be posted online by December 1.
Rule 10: Airfare, hotel and transportation will be at the expense of the entrants. The Broadmoor Hotel provides airport transportation for a nominal fee, which must be arranged through the hotel prior to arrival.
The USIDPC adheres to the following rules for entry and performance.
Rule 1: Students enroll according to their age as of September 15 of the application year.
Rule 2: Only “DUO” works may be entered. Movements of concerti, sonatinas, sonatas, duets, trios, or other ensemble works are NOT allowed. Arrangements, transcriptions, and original duo works qualify for the competition.
Rule 3: A student may compete a MAXIMUM of 3 times in this competition under the following circumstances: a) Each performance repertoire must be different. b) Each student must stay within his/her age level but may choose Sibling (Level VII) or Parent (Level VIII) categories as part of their 3 maximum entries. c) In the event a winner cannot participate in the Winners’ Concert, the teacher or another student may substitute for that participant.
Rule 4: Music DOES NOT have to be memorized for performances.
Rule 5: A panel of judges will adjudicate each CD. Winners of each of the divisions are invited to perform January 4-6, 2013 at The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs.
